Happiest of Holidays 2008 “Leadership: It’s All about TRUST.” An
on-line newsletter from Ellen Castro that addresses Leadership and
Life in Times of Great True wealth is the love in your hearts...your
relationships of TRUST. There are timeless truths that are the basis for trusting relationships. They span
cultures, religious backgrounds and perceived differences. They include: Buddhism: Hurt not others in ways that you yourself
would find hurtful. Udana-Varga 5:18 Christianity: All things whatsoever ye would that
men should do to you, do ye even so to them; for this is the law and the
Prophets. Matthew 7:12 Confucianism: Surely it is the maxim of loving
kindness: Do not unto others what you would not have them do unto
you. Analects 15:23 Hinduism: This is the sum of duty: Do nought
unto others which would cause you pain if done to you. Mahabharata 5:1517 Islam: No one of you is a believer until he deserves
for his brother that which he desires for himself. Holy Quran Judaism: What is hateful to you, do not to your
fellowman. That is the entire law; all the rest is
commentary. Talmud, Shabbat 31a Taoism: Regard your neighbor’s gain as your
own gain and your neighbor’s loss as your own loss. Lao Tzu Zoroastrianism: That nature alone is good which
refrains from doing unto another whatsoever is not good for itself.
Dadista-i-dinik 94:5 Today’s leaders realize… ·
Always and everywhere,
relationships of TRUST make the difference. ·
They reap what they sow.
Actions have consequences eventually. There are NO neutral actions. ·
They must fear what they attack. ·
True wealth is not defined by
control and perceived power. Thus, today’s leaders choose, especially now, to be trustworthy and generous in every single
moment, in every single way. Questions for Reflection Do I feel that I am wealthy? When I am in the presence of others...do they smile or do
they grimace? The choice is ALWAYS yours! Merry Christmas and Health, Peace, Joy and Prosperity in all its many
forms now and in 2009! Feel free to share this with a colleague or friend.
